Showcase: 8 Paddocks, Margaret River

Located in Treeton Valley in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region, 8 Paddocks spans 180 acres of bushland, pasture and vineyard. What began in 2016 as a search for a small rural property evolved into the restoration of an old Settlers Cottage and the creation of a purpose-built, adults-only retreat grounded in landscape and craftsmanship.

From the outset, the vision was clear. Create a place where guests can slow down and reconnect within a natural setting. Every aspect of the chalet design has been carefully considered, with a strong focus on local materials and skilled trades.

The result is a refined, restrained build that balances architectural clarity with raw surroundings.

LUTA: A Considered Outdoor Feature

In this setting, our Luta bath has been integrated into the chalets’ private terraces.

As seen in the images, the bath sits comfortably against timber cladding and native surrounds. Its curved form offsets the linear architecture, introducing softness without disrupting the design’s clarity. The natural concrete tone works seamlessly with timber, glass and greenery, feeling grounded and appropriate to the setting.

Cast in high-performance concrete, the Luta is suited to an exposed coastal environment like Margaret River. It retains warmth, withstands the elements and ages with character. The finish is matte and tactile, refined without excess.

Positioned to capture views across paddocks and vineyard rows, the bath anchors the terrace and defines the outdoor zone. It is purposeful. It shapes how the space is used and experienced.

At 8 Paddocks, the inclusion of the Luta reflects a shared commitment to proportion, material honesty and restraint.

An outdoor feature that feels integrated from the outset.
